Anonymous Chat Terms of Service
1. Service provider and scope of these terms
Anonymous Chat is operated by Öcal Özyavuz, an individual based in Türkiye. In these terms, “Anonymous Chat”, “we”, “us” and “service provider” refer to that operator; “you” and “user” refer to the person using the service. You can contact us for general enquiries and support at support@anonymouschat.app.
These Terms of Service govern the communication and content-sharing features offered through the Anonymous Chat website, web application and mobile applications to users in different countries. Features may vary according to your device, application version, country and account status. Advertising a feature does not mean that it is available in every country or on every device. Providing a service or legal text in a particular language does not mean that the service is offered only to users in countries where that language is spoken, or that only those countries' laws apply.
If additional terms apply to a particular feature, they are clearly presented before you use it. Those additional terms apply only to the relevant feature and do not remove your mandatory consumer rights. You are not expected to assume the existence of additional terms that have not been clearly disclosed.
2. Acceptance of the terms and their relationship with privacy
When you create an account or carry out another action that requires acceptance of these terms, you are given access to this text and an opportunity to review it. Your acceptance indicates your agreement to use the service under these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account or continue using a part of the service that requires acceptance. Merely viewing general information pages does not create a paid contract.
The processing of personal data is explained separately in the Privacy Policy. Accepting these Terms of Service does not amount to a blanket consent to advertising, tracking, processing of special-category data or other activities requiring separate consent. Where such processing occurs, the required separate information and choice mechanism are provided.
These terms cannot be interpreted as a waiver of your rights of access, correction, erasure, objection or complaint under applicable data protection law.
3. Age and eligibility
Anonymous Chat is available only to people aged 18 or over. If the law where you are requires a higher age or another legal condition for you to enter into a contract, you must also meet that requirement. People under 18 may not use the service, including with a parent's or guardian's permission.
On both the mobile and web applications, age eligibility is based on your declaration that you are at least 18. The ordinary registration process does not use identity documents or an external age-verification service to verify that declaration. Do not provide misleading information about your age or authority to use an account. If we obtain reliable information that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may restrict access and close the account. If additional verification becomes necessary because of a particular safety incident or legal requirement, we explain the reason and the information requested, and seek to avoid requesting more identity information than necessary.
A person's statement that they are an adult, or the application's age rating in an app store, does not mean that we have verified that person's age. Store age ratings do not guarantee that every user is an adult. The minimum age of 18 does not remove any obligations applicable to us concerning child safety, content reports or other matters. You can report a concern through our safety contact channel. Do not send identity documents or other people's personal information unless needed for the review.
4. Accounts and access security
You may create an account using the sign-in methods offered by the service. Using the service on more than one device requires you to pay attention to the security of each session. Do not share session credentials, verification codes or access to your account with other people.
Access to your account may depend on session information stored on your device and on recovery methods you have completed. Uninstalling the application, clearing browser data, losing your device or deleting session information may cause you to lose access until you sign in again or complete recovery. We may be unable to restore an account where we cannot reliably establish ownership. Do not assume that an account recovery method you have not set up is available to you.
If you suspect unauthorised access, notify us at support@anonymouschat.app. We may end sessions or temporarily restrict access to secure the account. These terms do not impose unlimited responsibility on you for every action performed through your account regardless of the circumstances and even where you are not at fault.
5. Meaning and limits of anonymous use
Anonymous Chat allows you to communicate with other users without publicly disclosing your real name. The ability to use a pseudonym does not mean that the service provider holds no records or that activities can never be associated with an account. The Privacy Policy explains the relevant account information, content and technical records.
Information you add to your profile, posts or messages may reveal your identity. Recipients can copy content you send them or combine it with other information. The use of a pseudonym does not verify another person's identity or the accuracy of their statements.
The service name is not a promise of absolute anonymity, an absence of records, end-to-end encryption or immunity from lawful requests for information. Private messaging also does not mean that no authorised access is possible. Access to content and the handling of legal requests are subject to the limits in these terms and the Privacy Policy.
6. Communication, visibility and interactions with other users
Consider the audience of the area in which you share content. A public profile or post does not have the same visibility as a private message to a particular person. Check the visibility and sending information displayed by the application before sharing content. Bear in mind that public content can be copied outside the service.
Deleting content does not automatically delete screenshots, exported copies or other records that a recipient has already kept outside the service. We do not promise that we can remotely erase data from recipients' devices outside the service. This does not justify unlawful further sharing.
Assess other users' statements independently. Sending money, disclosing personal information or meeting someone you encounter through the service is your decision. The service is not an emergency service, an identity-verification service or a professional advisory service. In an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency authorities.
7. General conduct and acceptable use
You must use the service lawfully and with respect for other people's rights and safety. Disagreement, criticism or sharing a personal experience does not by itself breach these terms, but it does not justify threats, targeted harassment or violations of another person's rights.
The following conduct is prohibited:
- Threats of violence, blackmail, coercive demands for money or content, stalking and persistent unwanted contact.
- Incitement to violence or targeted hateful attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar personal characteristics.
- Publishing or threatening to disclose a person's address, telephone number, identity document, location or other private information without permission.
- Fraud involving a false identity or claimed authority; phishing; and deceptive requests for charitable contributions, investments or payments.
- Activities that materially facilitate crime; trade in illegal goods or services; exploitation of people and trafficking.
- Unsolicited bulk messages, deceptive redirection and creating new accounts to continue the same conduct after enforcement action.
These rules apply to text, pseudonyms, profile images, media, links and other conduct carried out through the service.
8. Child safety and prevention of sexual abuse
Content and conduct involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children are strictly prohibited. This includes creating, uploading, requesting, sharing, providing access to or trading such material. In addition to conduct targeting an actual child, content that sexualises children or promotes their abuse is not allowed.
Gaining a child's trust for sexual purposes, steering a child towards sexual conversations or meetings, requesting nude images, sexual extortion and facilitating such conduct by another person are prohibited. Content does not need to be public for this prohibition to apply; the same rules apply to private messages.
When we receive a credible child-safety report, we assess protective measures concerning access to the content and account. Where applicable law requires it, we report relevant information to the competent bodies and preserve the required records. We do not promise that every item is reviewed before publication or that every violation is detected automatically.
Do not download, duplicate or attach suspected material to an email. Use the in-application reporting option where available, or send the location of the material and information identifying the relevant account to support@anonymouschat.app.
9. Prohibition of sexual content and intimate images
Sexual conversations and messages, erotic or pornographic text, sexual images, video and audio, and links facilitating the sharing of such content are prohibited. This rule applies even where the participants are adults and consent to the exchange. Private messages, profile fields and public posts are subject to the same prohibition. Paid membership does not create an exception.
Sharing someone's intimate or sexual images without their consent, threatening to share them as a means of pressure, and requesting such content are prohibited. This also covers generated or altered content depicting a real person in a sexual manner without their consent. Receiving an image that was previously sent privately does not give you permission to publish it or send it to someone else.
Unwanted sexual messages, sending sexual content after another person has refused it and coercion into sexual activity are not allowed. Consent to one interaction is not unlimited consent to every future interaction or to different content.
Restricting the service to adults does not authorise sexual content. We do not promise real-time review of every private message or upload. The ability to send content, or its not being removed immediately, does not mean that it has been found compliant with these rules. Reports and detected violations are handled under the review and enforcement provisions below.
10. Technical integrity of the service
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems, or send malware, phishing links or content intended to disrupt the service. Do not bypass security controls, access restrictions or rate limits. Do not use unauthorised automation to collect other people's content or personal data in bulk.
Using deceptive clients to access service interfaces, deliberately overloading traffic or exploiting a vulnerability to harm other people is prohibited. This provision does not remove any non-waivable rights concerning software inspection, interoperability or similar matters that the law gives you.
If you report a security vulnerability in good faith, contact support@anonymouschat.app with the minimum information necessary to demonstrate it. Do not access other people's accounts, copy their data or test the vulnerability in a way that disrupts the service. This contact channel is not an advance authorisation for unrestricted testing or a promise of a reward programme.
11. Ownership of your content and the limited permission you grant
Rights in content you share remain with you or the relevant rights holder. Anonymous Chat does not acquire ownership of content merely because you upload it. You must have the right to share the content and send it to your selected recipients, and must not share content that infringes another person's copyright, privacy or personality rights.
By uploading content to the service, you give us permission to host, store, technically reproduce, convert into an appropriate format, and transmit or display it within the visibility settings you select, to the extent necessary to provide the service. This permission is non-exclusive, royalty-free and limited to operating the service. Necessary infrastructure providers may participate only for the same purposes and within the same limits.
This permission does not authorise us to use your private messages in promotion, sell your content independently or use it for unlimited other purposes. When content is deleted, the permission ends except to the extent needed to complete deletion and carry out the lawful, purpose-limited and time-limited retention described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Anonymous Chat's rights and third-party services
Anonymous Chat's software, interface, visual arrangement, name and original materials may be protected under applicable intellectual property rules. You receive a limited, personal permission to use the service as made available in accordance with these terms. This does not give you the right to represent the service provider or offer another service under the Anonymous Chat name.
Any open-source components remain subject to their own licences. These terms do not narrow rights granted to you by those licences or mandatory law. Sending us a suggestion about the service does not entitle you to payment or an ownership interest unless we expressly agree otherwise; your existing intellectual property rights are not automatically transferred.
Third-party services, such as Google sign-in, the Apple App Store, Google Play or external links, may have their own terms. If you obtain the application through an app store, the store's rules concerning downloads, updates and any payments may also apply. This agreement concerning the Anonymous Chat service is between you and the operator. Obtaining the application through a store does not make Apple or Google the operator of Anonymous Chat. We make no promises about third parties' independent services. Our own legal responsibilities for our service and the providers we select nevertheless remain in place.
13. Reporting violations and submitting reports safely
You can report content or conduct that you believe breaches these rules or the law through the reporting options provided in the application or by contacting support@anonymouschat.app. Where possible, include information identifying the relevant account, message or post; the approximate date and time; why you believe there is a violation; and a safe way to contact you.
Do not send personal data that we do not need to review your report. In particular, do not redistribute child sexual abuse material or non-consensual intimate images by email. Identifying the location of the content and explaining what happened is a safer way to begin a review. If additional information is needed, we explain an appropriate way to provide it.
Reports must be honest and sufficiently clear. Knowingly providing false evidence, organising false mass reports to silence others or using reporting tools to harass people is prohibited. An inability to substantiate a report made in good faith does not by itself make the report abusive.
14. Review, moderation and available measures
We assess reports, detected security incidents and lawful requests from competent authorities according to their scope. Content, account information and necessary technical records are reviewed only by authorised persons and to the extent relevant to the purpose of the review. A complaint does not create unlimited permission to review all unrelated private correspondence.
Depending on the violation, measures may include removing or restricting access to content, issuing a warning, temporarily disabling particular functions, ending sessions, suspending an account or closing it. We consider the seriousness, context and recurrence of the violation and its effect on people's safety. Serious or urgent risks may require temporary action without an advance warning.
Where legally and safely possible, the affected user is informed of the principal reason for a decision and the route for requesting review. Details that could endanger a reporter, compromise another person's privacy or prejudice an ongoing investigation may be withheld. Where automated tools are used, applicable duties to explain decisions and provide review remain protected.
15. Challenging decisions and service complaints
If you believe a decision to remove your content or restrict your account is mistaken, you can request a review at support@anonymouschat.app. Include any reference in the decision notice, identify the relevant account and explain why you believe the decision is wrong. Do not send unnecessary sensitive documents or illegal material.
We assess the new information in your request and the grounds for the decision. If an error is identified, we make an appropriate correction; if the decision is maintained, we explain the reasons that may lawfully be disclosed. Repeating the same request without new information does not speed up review. Do not use the complaint channels for threats or harassment.
This contractual review process does not create an additional obstacle to approaching competent authorities, courts or dispute-resolution mechanisms available under applicable law. Any preliminary application requirements, deadlines or procedures established by law remain applicable. We do not promise that every request will be decided in your favour or that every case will be resolved within the same period.
16. Copyright and other rights complaints
If you believe that a work, image, trademark or another right belonging to you has been infringed, you can report it at support@anonymouschat.app. Explain the right and your relationship to the rights holder, identify the location of the relevant content, describe the alleged infringement and provide contact details. If acting as a representative, state your authority to do so.
Owning content does not mean that every use of it is necessarily unlawful. Permission, quotation, criticism, statutory exceptions and other relevant circumstances are considered. We may request further information where needed. Where a particular country's law requires specific elements in a notice, you may need to provide them.
In appropriate cases, access to the content may be restricted and the person who posted it may be asked to respond. The people concerned are informed about information that needs to be shared as part of that process; unnecessary personal information is not disclosed. Submitting a notice does not amount to a final judicial determination that the disputed right exists or has been infringed.
17. Closing your account and requesting content deletion
You may stop using the service. To close your account or request erasure of your data, contact support@anonymouschat.app. If your version provides an account option for that purpose, you may also use it. Proportionate ownership verification may be needed to prevent a request from affecting someone else's account.
Uninstalling the application or signing out does not by itself delete your account from our servers. Uninstalling, signing out or requesting account deletion may also not automatically stop the renewal of a subscription managed through a separate payment channel; the cancellation process in section 20 applies.
Deleting a message “for me” removes it from your view; it does not mean that it has also been deleted for other participants. A “delete for everyone” option, where provided, also affects other participants' view within the service to the extent explained in the application. Account deletion covers removal of your profile, sign-in access, linked sign-in identities and content created by your account from active systems. Messages written by other people are not deleted by that action. A content-free “deleted user” marker may remain where needed to preserve the structure of a conversation. The action does not remotely erase screenshots, downloaded files or recipients' copies outside the service.
For ordinary deletion, we aim to remove account and content data covered by the deletion from active systems within 24 hours after an authorised deletion action is accepted by the server. The period starts when the server accepts an authorised in-application deletion action. For an email request, the deletion action is accepted after the necessary identity and scope checks are completed. Verification and acceptance are not delayed unnecessarily. If a technical problem affects this target, we complete the action without unnecessary delay. This operational target does not extend statutory deadlines for rights requests or mean that all recipients' copies are deleted at the same time. Necessary records relating to a specific safety case or valid legal preservation are subject to section 18 and the limits in the Privacy Policy.
Backup copies are deleted or overwritten within a cycle of no more than 30 days; previous deletion decisions are reapplied if a backup is restored. The Privacy Policy explains the effect of account closure and deletion on other records and processing by external service providers. Deleting a message does not result in its entire content being retained in a general archive merely because a request might arrive in the future. Our lack of control over recipients' copies outside the service does not give us a right to retain data under our control unnecessarily.
18. Security records and requests from competent authorities
Certain records are kept for separate, purpose-specific periods for service security, the review of reports and applicable legal obligations. Keeping traffic or sign-in records does not mean that message text, photographs, video or audio are archived for those same periods. Deleted private messages are not retained in a general content archive merely because a request might arrive in the future. The Privacy Policy explains the scope and exceptions in more detail.
| Record type | Ordinary retention limit |
|---|---|
| Traffic records for publicly available hosting services subject to hosting-provider obligations | One year from the recorded event. If a different mandatory period actually applies, that period applies only to the records within its scope. This category does not include private message content. |
| Sign-in and security records outside the mandatory traffic category above | 90 days from the recorded event. |
| A limited case file necessary to assess a particular report or safety incident | The period necessary for the review, followed by six calendar months from the case's final closure. Unrelated correspondence is not added to the file in bulk. |
| Technical error records | 30 days from the recorded event. |
| Ordinary support correspondence | 12 months from closure of the request. |
| Minimal records showing that a personal data rights request was fulfilled | 24 months from completion of the request; records of erasure actions follow the separate period below. A copy of all the content covered by the request is not retained. |
| A minimal audit record showing that deletion was carried out | Three years from the action; it does not include a copy of the deleted message content. |
| Backups | A cycle of no more than 30 days, without ordinary user access. |
Where a binding preservation obligation or a valid need for preservation arising from a specific legal dispute applies to a record, only the necessary records may be kept separately for the relevant period. This does not create general authority to retain the entire account or unrelated content. The reason, scope and continuing necessity of preservation are reassessed at least every 90 days and when a change in circumstances becomes known. A review does not by itself restart the ordinary retention period. When the reason for preservation ends, deletion is completed unless another valid retention ground applies.
When requests are received from competent authorities, we assess the authority behind the request, its legal basis and its scope. Clarification or narrowing may be necessary; only information that is available and lawfully required is disclosed. Someone's statement that they are a law enforcement officer or lawyer does not give them access to all account data.
Content that has been lawfully deleted cannot be recreated because a request arrives later. We do not promise to provide data we no longer hold, or that technical records alone conclusively establish a person's identity. Statutory rights requiring earlier deletion and specific preservation duties for particular records remain applicable; this section does not expand those duties.
19. Availability of the service and changes
We exercise reasonable care in operating the service. Maintenance, security intervention, connectivity problems, device incompatibility or infrastructure failures may cause interruptions or delays. We do not promise that messages will always arrive instantly, that the service will be error-free or that a particular feature will be offered forever.
We may change features to maintain the service's security, technical compatibility or operation. If an important feature is removed or the service is discontinued, we provide appropriate advance notice unless urgent or legal reasons prevent it. Users' rights of access, termination, data retrieval and any applicable refund remain protected under applicable law.
Failing to install application or security updates may affect how some features work. We explain the need for and effect of an important update appropriately. This section does not remove rights to conformity, security updates or remedies for defects that must be provided by law.
20. Premium membership, payment and subscription management
Premium membership is offered as monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions in countries where it is sold. Purchases are made only through the Apple App Store and Google Play; subscriptions are not sold through the website or web application. Accepting these terms, opening an account or using free features does not by itself start a subscription or create a payment obligation. The purchase must be completed separately in the relevant store with the required confirmation.
Premium membership provides ad-free use and unlimited messaging. Unlimited messaging means that no subscription quota is imposed on the number of messages you send as part of the membership. Content rules, prohibitions on spam and automation, security measures and technical rate limits that protect the service apply to all users. These measures do not authorise an undisclosed message quota to be added to an “unlimited” membership. Premium membership does not prevent a recipient from blocking you or refusing communication.
The package description displayed before purchase explains the membership's specific benefits, any usage limits, the platforms on which it applies, its duration, total price, currency, applicable taxes and charging arrangements. That description and the specific terms in the order confirmation form part of the contract for the purchase concerned. A feature is not included merely because the name “Premium” is used if the package description does not include it. Nor can this general provision be used to disregard a benefit that was clearly promised before purchase. Where packages offer the same benefits, the different duration options may refer to the same benefit description; where they differ, the scope of each package is stated separately.
The subscription renews automatically for your selected monthly or annual period unless you stop renewal within the time specified by the relevant store. The renewal period, total charge and billing information are stated before purchase. The method for stopping renewal and the applicable deadline for preventing the next charge are explained in the subscription interface of the store where you purchased.
A one-week free Premium trial is offered. Eligibility and whether the offer is available for your account are shown in the relevant store's purchase interface; this provision does not mean that every account qualifies for repeated free trials. Before you start a trial, the one-week period, the monthly or annual paid period that follows, the applicable price and the cancellation conditions are clearly displayed. If you do not stop renewal by the deadline specified by the store, the trial converts to a paid, auto-renewing subscription under the package you approved. The effect of cancelling during the trial on continued access is explained in the purchase interface and the relevant store's terms.
Subscriptions are managed and cancelled through the subscription management options for the Apple App Store or Google Play account used to purchase them. If you cannot access the cancellation route, you can request assistance at support@anonymouschat.app. Uninstalling the application, signing out or requesting account deletion does not by itself cancel a subscription managed by a store.
Ordinary cancellation stops the next renewal, and your benefits remain available until the end of the paid period, unless the purchase terms or applicable law require a different outcome. Rights of withdrawal, refund and remedies for defective or non-conforming services are separate. You do not automatically waive those rights merely because the digital service begins. Where the law requires separate information, an express request, acceptance or other conditions before a particular right can be lost, those requirements must be met separately. These terms do not mean that refunds are never available. Refund requests are assessed through the purchase channel's procedure with applicable consumer rights preserved.
If the renewal price or material package benefits change, appropriate notice is given before the change takes effect, and fresh acceptance is obtained where required. Core benefits promised for an already paid period are not arbitrarily removed through the general power to change these terms. If the purchased service cannot be provided because the service ends or a necessary change is made, applicable rights to termination, price reduction and refund remain protected. Paid membership does not exempt users from content and safety rules; the effects of account restrictions on paid services are also assessed with regard to your statutory rights.
Your own providers may charge for internet access, mobile data and device use. Those charges depend on your relationship with the relevant provider. If you believe there has been an error or unauthorised charge, contact our support channel with an order or transaction reference; do not email passwords, verification codes or your complete payment card details.
21. Liability and rights protected by law
Our responsibility for breaches of our own obligations is determined by applicable law. Content posted by other users represents their statements. We do not promise to have verified in advance its accuracy, lawfulness or fitness for a particular purpose. This explanation does not remove any duties of care or intervention that the law places on us.
The service is provided for personal communication and sharing content. Your use of it in commercial activities does not create a separate promise concerning the continuity or revenue of your business. Fault, causation, foreseeability and other statutory conditions are considered when assessing compensation for loss; user claims are not rejected in advance as a class.
These terms do not exclude liability arising from our intentional conduct, gross negligence, fraud or other circumstances in which liability cannot lawfully be limited. Rights relating to death or personal injury, consumer guarantees, data protection compensation and other non-waivable rights remain protected to the extent required by applicable law. Users are not required to provide an unlimited indemnity or assume all legal costs.
22. Changes to the terms and notice
We may change these terms to reflect actual changes to the service, security needs or legal obligations. The revised text states its effective date. Changes that materially affect your use or rights are clearly communicated through an appropriate in-application notice or an available contact channel.
For significant changes, a reasonable period for review is provided unless urgent security intervention or a binding legal requirement makes that inappropriate. Where new acceptance or separate consent is required by law, it is obtained separately. Silence is not treated as acceptance of every change or of a new purpose for processing data.
If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the service and request closure of your account, with related statutory rights preserved. Changes are not used to reduce your rights retrospectively in a dispute that arose before their effective date. In choosing how to give notice, we take account of the contact details and in-app channels available for your account.
23. Governing law and disputes
These Terms of Service are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye, subject to the mandatory protections preserved below. This choice does not remove consumer or data protection rules that must apply where you are, and does not require disputes to be heard exclusively by courts in Türkiye.
If you use the service as a consumer in the European Union and the conditions of the relevant rules are met, a choice of law does not prevent you from receiving the mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live. Access to competent local courts and consumer remedies remains protected to the extent provided by applicable rules. In other places, including Türkiye and the United States, consumer and other statutory rights that cannot be removed by contract also remain protected.
You may contact support@anonymouschat.app to seek a resolution. Doing so is not a mandatory internal complaint requirement before bringing proceedings or approaching a competent authority. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a general waiver of collective action rights or exclusive jurisdiction that requires all users to bring claims in a foreign country.
24. Other provisions and contact
If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by applicable law. An invalid provision is not automatically replaced with another that imposes a broader obligation on the user. Our failure to exercise a right in a particular case does not mean that we waive it entirely.
If operation of the service or its provider changes, obligations concerning your contractual rights and protection of your personal data continue. Legally required notices are given, and your consent to a transfer is obtained separately where required.
The Turkish and English base versions contain the same substantive provisions; other published language versions are prepared using the English text as their source. If translations differ, mandatory law and applicable rules of interpretation in favour of consumers are respected. Using English as the translation source does not remove rights clearly granted to you in another language or make English prevail in every circumstance. A language choice does not reduce your non-waivable rights.
